Emily Athena

Supports people to more fully inhabit their bodies, heal from pain and dysfunction, and un-shame their sexuality.

Body, soul, science, and sex are what Emily Athena is all about. Her work skillfully blends the worlds of somatic sex education and functional, artful movement. She supports people to more fully inhabit their bodies, heal from pain and dysfunction, and un-shame their sexuality.

Her credentials include a BFA in Contemporary Dance from The North Carolina School of the Arts, a somatic sex education and women’s holistic sexuality certification from The Artemis School, Yoga for the Pelvic Floor teacher training, and a twelve-year career as a professional dancer and fitness trainer.

Emily believes somatic sex education is a form of activism by bringing back personal sovereignty and agency over one’s body. Her holistic approach is rooted in data, science, embodiment, and intuition while leaving space for the magic and mystery of it all.
